Winter Walk

Wow!  I can hardly believe it’s been since September since I last posted!  I have been a very busy girl working to set up my new photography business so, although I have been shooting a lot, I haven’t had the time to dedicate to keeping up with my blog.  As time permits, I am going to try to post images more frequently as I rather miss the challenge and growth I experienced from shooting something new every day.

I decided to combat my cabin fever with a couple of walks at some nearby parks this past weekend.  Both of these images were taken with my infrared converted camera during yesterday’s walk.  It really wasn’t as dark and gloomy as these images suggest, but rather they were processed to appear that way.

Thanks for looking!

Project 365 – Infrared Park Bench

It’s a blustery and cold day here today and I had to really struggle against the wind (and even a little snow) while shooting this morning, but I wanted to capture a few infrared images while I was out and about.  Although I am still trying to find my way with infrared photography, I have to admit it has quickly become a real passion of mine and I am so excited about pursuing this avenue of photographic artistry.

Project 365 – Inside Looking Out

Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills dipping between -30 and -40 below have gripped our part of the country.  Local schools and many businesses have closed due to the frigid temperatures and ice-covered roadways.  Aside from an “emergency” trip to the camera store, this photographer is staying inside for the next couple of days.  This is a shot of my backyard as the winds whipped and howled around our house this afternoon.  Brrrrr…..

Project 365 – Stream

Today I decided I wanted to play around with my camera’s auto HDR option, so as soon as my little one was off to kindergarten I headed down to one of my favorite locations at Caesar’s Creek.  The leaves are just getting ready to begin their autumn transformation so I will try this one again over the next few weeks as the colors come alive.  I like this image, but I want to try to recompose it next time to include more of the tree on the right as I think it might make the image more interesting.
